Soft Bits Resource Pack 1.12.2 was designed from PlastiCraft resource pack with some unique addition that players will surely enjoy. It was designed to make the world attain a smoother feel with clean visuals. It removed the flashy bits from PlastiCraft so that the game will be smooth through and through.
Soft Bits resource pack is designed by Wolfie Tundra, and its blocks are similar to Tetris blocks. It just came out recently, but it’s regularly updated. It’s one of those resource packs that is under the “simplistic” theme. Minecraft is made to be blocky, but they still use a lot of details for their blocks.
Resource packs like this aim to make it even smoother by lowering the amount of details, and not by increasing the graphics. It’s another way of making the game more interesting. That was what many players thought which was why resource packs like Mad Pixel and PlastiCraft saw a lot of use during their release. They make the game easier for the eyes.
Even with Minecrafts’ unique visuals, a lot of people are still bothered with the amount of details that seems like jumbled, extra-large pixels. Soft bits texture pack removed these details.
Each block looks more solid in plain colors. Some players might find that it makes some important blocks harder to differentiate than others, but it’s not a bother to others.
Trees look like carton blocks packed together. Stone blocks look like giant bricks with only shadows as their details. Animals look blockier than ever, and even shadows look like circles underneath their owners. This does not mean they look less than what they did before. In fact, it can be considered as an improvement.
Other than being easy for the eyes, which is an issue for a lot of people, the simple colors make it friendlier for people who gets distracted easily. It’s easy to differentiate different elements of the game this way.
Soft Bits resource pack still runs in the 16×16 resolution, so it should not affect the framerate. It will still be the same as before the resource pack had been purchased.
Soft Bits resource pack had been updated for Minecraft 1.12. It does not require better hardware, and will run smoothly if your hardware can handle the vanilla game.
The resource pack had been working to make all the blocks, models and textures to have a similar style. It is updating regularly, adding more models and textures. The most recent project that the author mentioned is that it will be working on the models of food and color for sheep wool.
It’s still a work in progress in many areas, but it already had most of the world covered from random mobs, to random world seeds.
Playing simplistically is another way to approach things in Minecraft. It revamped the already simplistic graphics of the game to make it look even more pleasing to the eyes using solid color blocks. It makes it so that the world does not look like it’s covered like a bleep censor.
It may have a different approach than others, which aimed to make it even look better by raising the graphics. It even surpasses the previous resolution.
It makes traveling the world very interesting, as if the world is converted into a 3D brick game. It is actually made of bricks, but that is made more obvious in this resource pack.
You might be a fan of PlastiCraft but can’t handle some of its intense content. If you like playing Minecraft in the simplistic way, then Soft Bits resource pack is definitely for you!
