Chameleon Creepers Mod 1.12.2 and 1.11.2 brings back the challenge and terror factor to Creepers by letting them blend into the world around them. This gives them the ability to ambush unfortunate adventurers who aren’t looking closely enough.
Anyone who’s played Minecraft knows that Creepers are most at home in the green woodland biomes, where it blends in really well, especially at night. The terrifying “hiss!” of a Creeper’s fuse is all too well known amongst those who have suffered its deadly explosion before. It gives one a special kind of rush as he or she frantically tries to get as far away as possible in the two-odd seconds before the weird green monster blows up and kills them. However, once they’re out of the forest biome, the creepers stick out like a sore thumb, and you have to be blind not to notice them coming at you intending to blow you to smithereens. It then becomes far too easy to spot and avoid them, lessening the challenge of surviving in the world of Minecraft. That’s where Chameleon Creepers Mod comes in.
Chameleon Creepers Mod ups the challenge factor for Creeper encounters by making them change the color of their bodies according to the biome they’re currently in. This effectively blends them into their surroundings. The color of the Creeper’s body changes depending on the color of the block they’re stepping on, so creepers retain their natural green color in forests and grasslands. However, they also turn yellow when on the beach and gray when stepping on rock. They even turn a darker shade of green when night falls over the forests of the Overworld. With this mod, wandering about at night and in dark corners of the Minecraft world will be twice as terrifying, because you never know if a creeper might be lurking in a shadowy corner.
