What is Photoptics Mod 1.12.2?
Minecraft has long been a game for the visually inclined players. Many levels of the gameplay require keen observation and presence of mind. That is why having a 20/20 vision is an understatement—you need more visual help to experience the game at its fullest. The Photoptics mod specializes in optical instruments that enhance and improve the visual experience of the players.
This Photoptics mod offers a wide variety of visual aids to help players see better. Using optical instruments also adds depth and reality to the gameplay.
As of now, there are only two items added to the game settings. The price is relatively low since the mod just came out only over a month. There are many other items and optical instruments to be added that players can look forward to. Just be sure to keep the system updated as newer versions are released.
Optical Instruments for Gameplay
There are several basic visual instruments that Photoptics mod offers. Binoculars are the first to be released. Basically, binoculars do what they are supposed to do, and you can use this in viewing at a moderate distance.
Binoculars can be made in the crafting table by the use of four glass panes on the sides and three iron ingots toward the middle part. The materials are already available for assembly in the items section.
The next item in the selection is the telescope. This is very important as telescopes give players the advantage of seeing things from afar that the naked eyes cannot view. It has the same purpose as the binoculars with regard to the gameplay, but has more edge than the former.
Telescopes can be crafted in the crafting table using a glass block in the middle of the first file, iron block from the second row, and a glass pane from the third row. Materials are ready for building in the items section.
Using Visual Aids
Many items pertaining to visual aids can be acquired using the Photoptics mod. Make sure your system is compatible with the software and has enough storage to install this mod. To avoid lagging and bugs, make sure you are using the latest version and your system is up to date.
These items are pretty simple and user-friendly. All you need to do is to simply load them and right-click to start activation. Once they are all installed, you can use the plus sign (+) and the minus sign (-) to zoom in and zoom out, respectively.
The only bug reported while using this mod is that the binoculars can be difficult to navigate using the left hand. The right-hand area works just fine. Nonetheless, this is not a major issue for most players, as majority of the users are right-handed.
Future Updates and Features
Since this mod is in its earlier version, many updates will be coming soon. Planned features include basic, golden/diamond, and ultimate binoculars. They provide enhanced viewing for specific uses. An observation reward system is also a part of this feature. This basically means that viewing of celestial objects using a handheld telescope will earn you rewards.
The updated version of the Photoptics mod contains the following logs:
- MC 1.11 ported with only few and minor changes in the ItemStack
- Minor crash issues concerning setting key bindings on mouse fixed
- Telescopes available to be used and activated off-hand
- Size of items placed on the ground fixed to scale
The Photoptics mod is available on the official site of Minecraft. They offer free download links you can click and install right away. Be informed that any changes in the game, modifications, maps, and resource packs are not hosted by the site. Updates can also be made without prior notification. New items are also included when the system upgrades, and it will be releasing more optical instruments for the players to use.
